Volunteer
Vouchers
Volunteer Vouchers will now be distributed twice a year so that members
who volunteer in the spring may use their vouchers in the fall of the
same year. In addition, two vouchers may be used per entry at BREA
shows. For more information, contact Kelly Linn at 434.369.5433 or
by email.
Attention
Junior Members - Volunteer Hours Change
The number of volunteer hours required for junior members to be
eligible for a BREA year end award and inclusion on a BREA team has increased to compensate for their free BREA memberships. For 2009,
junior members need to complete six (6) volunteer hours to be
eligible for a year end award. In order to be eligible for
inclusion on a BREA team, junior members need to complete an
additional four (4) volunteer hours.
Clarification
of Allowable Entries at BREA Competitions
When competing at BREA organized events, only one Horse Trials or two
Combined Tests are allowed per horse per competition. However,
competitors may ride additional dressage tests if they wish.
Notice
for Upcoming BREA Shows
BREA show entry forms must be received, not just postmarked, on or
before the closing date. Late entries will not be accepted
unless approved by the show secretary. Approved late entries will
be subject to a $10.00 late fee. In
addition, entry forms now specify that Cross Country opens at 3:00 PM
the day before the competition (Course maps will be available in the
Pavilion). Competitors will be expected to complete Cross Country
immediately after their Show Jumping rounds.
BREA
Shows Now Registered With USEA
Anyone
participating in a BREA sponsored show is required to fill out and
sign a USEA Schooling Show Release
Form. The show secretaries for BREA sponsored shows
will have the Release Forms available on the show grounds, however
releases for participants under the age of 18 must be signed by a parent
or guardian. Please note that participants are not required
to be members of the USEA in order to participate in USEA registered
schooling shows.
Submit Volunteer Hours and Points Online
Tired of carrying around those
tattered BREA Volunteer Hours or Points Validation Forms. Well,
you're in luck because now you can submit your hours/points online via
the web. Click here to go
to the online submission forms.
Southern States Labels
If you feed Southern States brand grains, please consider saving
the labels/bulk tickets and sending them to Linda Oberlender. The
BREA receives funds for each label submitted which are used to support
the club's activities. The more labels you submit, the more the
BREA can do for you.
It's Team Time Again
If you are interested in riding on a BREA team at either the Ark Team
Competition, the Midsouth Team Challenge, or the Chronicle of the Horse
Adult Team Challenge, be sure to check out the
team requirements and
submit your team application as soon as possible. If you have any
questions or would like to help organize team activities, contact Sue Jellum by phone
at 540.365.2499 or by email.
