Membership

Are you a first time eventer, a seasoned competitor, so somewhere in between?  If so, the BREA can help you fulfill your eventing goals.  Benefits of BREA membership include:

• Reduced entry fees at BREA organized competitions, clinics, and other activities

• Reduced subscribing membership with USEA

• Volunteer vouches which may be used as "cash" at specified BREA organized activities

• Monthly newsletter (via snail mail, email, or on this website)

• Access to monthly Board meetings

• Free newsletter and website classified ads

• Automatic inclusion in BREA Year End Awards Program (see Program rules for volunteer and results validation requirements)

• Eligible to represent the BREA at team competitions (see Team rules for volunteer and riding requirements)

Volunteer Opportunities

As a "volunteer" based organization, the BREA relies heavily on the generous giving of time by its members in everything it does.  Throughout the year, multiple opportunities to help the club offer its activities exist.  Among others, these activities include:

• Serving as a BREA Board member

• Helping to organize and run BREA competitions before, during, and after the day of the event

• Participating in workdays at the Green Hill Park Equestrian Center

• Organizing team activities

• Organizing clinics

• Maintaining the Year End Awards Program

• Maintaining the Volunteer Hours Program

• Organizing the BREA Annual Meeting

• Organizing and maintaining BREA equipment

• Participating in fund raising activities

If you would like to help with any of these activities or initiate an activity on behalf of the BREA, please contact any BREA Board member as soon as possible.  In addition, some BREA programs such as the Year End Awards and Teams require certain numbers of volunteer hours in order to participate in that activity.  If you are planning on becoming involved with these activities, be sure to complete your required volunteer hours as soon as possible.  You don't want to miss out on a year end award or a team competition due to lack of volunteer hours.

Teams

Once again, the BREA is kicking its Teams Program into high gear.  This year, the BREA is looking to send teams to three team competitions.  They are the:

• Midsouth Team Challenge (Junior, Young Rider, and Adult members)

  • Midsouth Three Day Event and Team Challenge Horse Trials

  • Lexington KY

  • October 15-18, 2009

• The Ark Team Competition

  • Horse Trials at The Ark

  • Monroe NC

  • October 24-25, 2009

• Chronicle of the Horse Eastern Region Adult Team Challenge (Adult members only)

  • Virginia Horse Trials

  • Lexington VA

  • October 30-November 1, 2009

Green Hill Park Equestrian Center Stall Rental Information

Need help getting Meadow Muffin on the bit or through that pesky water jump?  If so, one of the local instructors listed below standing willing to help.
